PrepifyME — Privacy Policy
Operated by Prepiffy LLC, a Delaware limited liability company ("Prepiffy," "we," "us," or "our").
Effective Date: June 20, 2026 Last Updated: June 23, 2026
In plain language: This Privacy Policy explains what information PrepifyME collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect the information needed to run the app, track your study progress, and personalize your learning. We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with universities, colleges, advertisers, brands, or data brokers. We use trusted service providers (for example, hosting and analytics) to help us run the Service. If you are a parent or guardian, see "Children's and Teens' Privacy."
This Policy applies to the PrepifyME website, web application, iOS application, any future Android application, and related services (the "Service"). It is part of, and incorporated into, our Terms and Conditions.
1. Who We Are and Scope
Prepiffy LLC is the company responsible for the Service and for the personal information described here. This Policy covers information we collect through the Service. It does not cover third-party websites or services we do not control.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information.
2.1 Information you provide to us:
- Account and profile information: name, email address, and password or other authentication information.
- Age information: an age confirmation that you are at least 13 (used to confirm eligibility and apply age-appropriate protections). We do not collect your full date of birth in the ordinary course of providing the Service. You may also optionally tell us your grade level.
- School information you voluntarily provide (for example, the name of your school).
- Customer support communications: messages, questions, and feedback you send us.
2.2 Information generated through your use of the Service (study and progress data):
- study activity and session history;
- practice test results and quiz responses;
- progress data, XP, streaks, achievements, and related learning metrics;
- recommendations and insights generated for you.
2.3 Information collected automatically:
- Device information (such as device type, operating system, app version, and identifiers);
- IP address and general location inferred from it;
- Usage analytics (such as features used, pages or screens viewed, actions taken, and timestamps);
- information collected through cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookie Policy).
We do not intentionally collect Social Security numbers, government ID numbers, precise geolocation, biometric identifiers, or payment card numbers in the ordinary course of providing the Service — except that, if you are selected as a potential winner in a PrepifyME sweepstakes or promotion, we (or our administrator) collect the identity and tax information needed to verify eligibility and meet tax-reporting obligations, as described in "Sweepstakes and Promotions" below. The Service is currently free, so we do not process payments, and we do not collect phone numbers or send text messages. Please don't send us sensitive information we don't request.
2.4 Sweepstakes and promotions. If you enter a PrepifyME scholarship sweepstakes or promotion, we collect the information you submit to enter (such as name, email, and state, and an age confirmation; for entrants under 18, a parent/guardian email and consent). If you are selected as a potential winner, we additionally collect verification and tax information (which may include date of birth, proof of identity or student status, a parent/guardian's information if you are under 18, and a taxpayer identification number on a Form W-9). This information is used only to administer the promotion, verify eligibility, deliver the prize, and meet legal and tax obligations; sensitive winner information is collected only from selected potential winners, secured, and retained only as long as needed. See the applicable Official Rules for details.
3. How We Use Information
We use personal information solely to operate, secure, maintain, improve, and personalize the Service, including to:
- create and manage your account and authenticate you;
- deliver lessons, practice questions, and quizzes, and record your responses and results;
- track your progress and power gamification features (XP, streaks, achievements);
- generate personalized study recommendations and estimated score insights using automated and AI-assisted techniques (these are informational only — see our Terms, "AI-Assisted Features");
- improve and develop the Service, including by using study activity, responses, and results to train, evaluate, and improve the educational and AI models that power our lessons, question selection, and recommendations — we use this data to make the Service better for learners, and we do not sell it;
- provide customer support and respond to your requests;
- send you service-related communications (such as account, security, and important Service notices) and in-app or push notifications you have enabled;
- monitor, secure, debug, and improve the Service, including diagnosing problems and analyzing usage trends;
- protect against fraud, abuse, and security threats; and
- comply with law and enforce our Terms.
We use your information to improve our own Service and models, but we do not sell it, do not use it for third-party targeted advertising, do not build advertising profiles about you, and do not share it with advertisers, brands, universities, or data brokers.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not share your personal information with universities, colleges, advertisers, brands, or data brokers.
We share personal information only in these limited situations:
- Service providers. We share information with trusted third parties who process it on our behalf and under our instructions to provide the Service — for example, cloud hosting and infrastructure, analytics, authentication, email/notification delivery, customer support tools, and security. These providers are permitted to use the information only to provide services to us.
- AI processing. Certain features may use third-party AI providers acting as our service providers to generate recommendations or content. We do not authorize them to use your personal information for their own purposes.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information if we believe in good faith it is necessary to comply with law or legal process, enforce our Terms, protect the rights, safety, or property of users or the public, or detect and prevent fraud or security issues.
- Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy or a successor policy with comparable protections. We will provide notice of any material change.
- With your direction or consent. We may share information when you ask us to or otherwise consent.
If we ever decide to share or "sell" personal information in ways not described above (for example, future brand partnerships), we will update this Policy and obtain any consent required by law before doing so.
5. Children's and Teens' Privacy
Protecting young users matters to us. The Service is intended for users 13 and older, and we have designed it to limit the information we collect from minors to what is reasonably necessary to provide the Service.
5.1 Children under 13. We do not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal information from children under 13, and the Service is not directed to children under 13. At registration we ask users to confirm they are at least 13. If you are under 13, please do not use the Service or provide any information. If we learn we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent as required by the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we will delete it promptly. Parents who believe their child under 13 has provided information may contact us at privacy@prepifyme.com, and we will delete it.
5.2 Users ages 13–17. Minors should use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. For minors, we:
- collect only the information reasonably necessary to provide the Service;
- do not use their personal information for third-party targeted advertising, and do not build commercial or advertising profiles about them;
- do not sell their personal information; and
- apply our written information security program and data-retention practices to their data.
We use minors' study activity and responses to operate, personalize, and improve the Service and our educational models — not to advertise to them or to develop unrelated products.
5.3 Parents and guardians. Parents and guardians may review their child's information, request that we correct or delete it, refuse to permit further collection or use, and withdraw consent (which will end the child's access) by contacting us at privacy@prepifyme.com. We may need to verify your identity and your relationship to the child before acting.
5.4 Schools. If the Service is ever offered through a school or district, additional student-privacy laws (such as the federal FERPA and state laws like California's SOPIPA) may apply. In that case we will handle student information consistent with those laws and any written agreement with the school, will use student data only for authorized educational purposes, and will not sell it or use it for targeted advertising.
6. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We and our service providers use cookies, SDKs, and similar technologies to operate the Service, remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and understand usage. We do not use advertising cookies for third-party targeted advertising. For details and your choices, see our Cookie Policy.
7. How We Protect Information (Security)
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, and destruction — for example, encryption in transit, access controls limiting who can view personal data, and a written information security program appropriate to the sensitivity of the data we handle. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and applicable authorities as required by law. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for notifying us promptly of any suspected unauthorized access to your account.
8. How Long We Keep Information (Retention)
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service and for the purposes described in this Policy, and thereafter as needed to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and maintain security. When information is no longer needed, we delete, de-identify, or anonymize it. We maintain a written data retention policy describing how long we keep different categories of data and the criteria we use.
9. Your Privacy Choices and Rights
9.1 Choices available to everyone.
- Access and update: you can review and update much of your account and profile information in the app.
- Account deletion: you can delete your account and associated data from within the app or by contacting support@prepifyme.com. (iOS users can also request deletion as required by Apple.)
- Communications: we primarily send service-related messages (such as account, security, and important Service notices). If we ever send optional or non-essential emails, you can opt out using the unsubscribe link. You can manage push notifications in your device settings. We do not collect phone numbers or send marketing text messages.
9.2 U.S. state privacy rights. Depending on where you live (for example, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws), you may have rights to:
- know/access the personal information we have collected about you and how we use and share it;
- correct inaccurate personal information;
- delete personal information;
- obtain a portable copy of your personal information;
- opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of certain profiling — note: we do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, so there is currently nothing to opt out of in that respect; and
- not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
California "Shine the Light": California residents may request information about disclosures of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We do not make such disclosures.
Minors' data. Several state privacy laws give heightened protection to the personal information of consumers under 18 (and, in some states, treat it as "sensitive" data or require opt-in consent before any sale or sharing for targeted advertising). Because we do not sell personal information, do not share it for targeted advertising, and do not use minors' data to build advertising profiles, these heightened restrictions are consistent with how we already operate. If our practices ever change, we will obtain any consent required by law first.
To exercise any right, contact us at privacy@prepifyme.com or use any in-app tools we provide. We will verify your request as required by law (we may ask you to confirm information matching our records). You may use an authorized agent where the law permits. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law. If we decline a request, you may appeal by contacting privacy@prepifyme.com with the subject "Privacy Appeal."
9.3 Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control. Because we do not track users across third-party sites for advertising, we treat browser "Do Not Track" and Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals consistently with applicable law. See our Cookie Policy for details.
10. Automated Decision-Making
We use automated and AI-assisted techniques to personalize learning, select questions, and generate recommendations and estimated score insights. These features do not make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you; they are educational tools intended to help you study, and they are informational only. You can contact us with questions about these features at privacy@prepifyme.com.
11. Third-Party Links and Services
The Service may link to or integrate with third-party services we do not control. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We encourage you to review them.
12. Data Location and International Users
The Service is intended for users in the United States, and information is processed and stored in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your location.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide reasonable notice (for example, by posting the updated Policy with a new "Last Updated" date, by email, or by an in-app notice). Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
